Hey, everyone! Today, we’re thrilled to share the enchantment of the 32nd Annual Santa Claus Parade that unfolded in the heart of Saskatoon. From whimsical floats featuring Transformers, Elsa and Anna from Frozen, to unexpected dino guests, and of course, the grand finale with Santa himself—this year’s parade was a festive spectacle to behold!

If you were unable to make it this year, here are some tips on how to best see the holiday magic next year:

1. Plan Ahead:

Follow the parade on Instagram at @sasksantaparade to see the route and the time it starts.

2. Parking Strategy:

Be mindful that there will be road closures along the parade route. We opted to park at Midtown Mall, where there is always ample parking. The parade ends there, but this is also the most popular place, which makes it difficult to find good seats unless you get there very early. Since we didn’t need a seat at Midtown, we walked a short distance to 19 Street E, near the start of the parade, where there was lots of room on both sides of the street.

3. Check the Weather Forecast:

While we lucked out with fantastic weather this year, always check the forecast before heading out. Dress accordingly, keeping in mind that you’ll likely be outside for over an hour, considering a few minutes before the parade starts to get a good spot, the parade itself (which lasts around 45 minutes), and then your trip back to your car.

4. Arrival Time:

For prime viewing, arrive 20 to 30 minutes before the parade begins. Scout out a cozy spot, and if you have them, bring camping chairs for added comfort. The parade route is long enough that you are bound to find a great spot along the way.

About Santa:

As you’ll see in the video, Santa closes the parade, but he moves quickly! If your little ones are eager for a close-up with Santa, position yourself near the end of the parade at Midtown Mall. Santa ditches his sleigh and heads inside for those cherished Santa Photos!
